Welcome to DRAFTNIGHT.tv

DRAFTNIGHT.tv turns your fantasy football draft into a shared, broadcast-style draft-night experience.

Instead of asking everyone to draft from the same traditional league platform screen, DRAFTNIGHT.tv separates the experience into two parts:

  • A TV or shared display presents the draft broadcast.
  • Each team owner uses their phone as a draft controller.

Who hosts the draft?

The person who creates the league is the host. The host signs in to DRAFTNIGHT.tv, configures the league, launches the draft room, and opens the TV display.

The host controls the room setup from the TV lobby, including:

  • Displaying the room code and QR code
  • Confirming that every team has joined
  • Assigning a commissioner

Who is the commissioner?

The commissioner is one of the team owners who has joined the room.

After the draft begins, the commissioner receives additional controls on their phone, including the ability to pause the draft, undo the most recent pick, manage room audio, switch between the Broadcast TV display and Traditonal dashboard views, and cancel the draft.

The host and commissioner can be the same person, but they do not have to be.

How do team owners join?

Team owners do not need DRAFTNIGHT.tv accounts.

Each owner:

  1. Opens DRAFTNIGHT.tv/join on a phone.
  2. Enters the six-character room code and a display name.
  3. Selects their assigned fantasy team.
  4. Keeps the controller open until the draft is complete.

Owners use their phones to search for players, submit picks, review their roster, and send soundboard reactions.

What appears on the TV?

The TV display shows the shared draft experience, including:

  • The room code and joining instructions
  • Joined teams and the assigned commissioner
  • The league introduction
  • The team currently on the clock
  • Pick announcements and player reveals
  • Available players and team needs
  • Draft results and league information
  • Soundboard reactions

The commissioner can also temporarily replace the broadcast view with a full draft board.

What happens after the draft?

After the final pick, DRAFTNIGHT.tv automatically completes the room and saves the results.

Team owners can review and share their final rosters. The host can open the complete draft recap from their dashboard, share a public results link, or export the results.

Unfortunately, due to API restrictions, DRAFTNIGHT.tv is not able to automatically import your draft results directly into your fantasy football platform. The most popular platforms, such as Sleeper and Yahoo,  do not provide an API for DRAFTNIGHT to automatically upload your draft results for you. As a result, you must manually enter the results into your fantasy football platform yourself.

If these platforms ever update their API to allow for this, DRAFTNIGHT will work on implementing this functionality immediately.
